To view the activity of any class you created, first go to the My Classes page. There you will see an overview of all the activity from all of your classes.
My Classes Page
The My Classes page provides you an overview of all your students' activity on Vocabulary.com. Here you'll see a list of your current classes as well as your top performing students.
At the top of this page, you'll see a bar chart that shows you a day by day (or week by week) overview of all the activity going on in all your classes. By default, this bar chart shows the number of questions answered by all your students. Below the chart, you will see four columns that show: Questions Answered (correct/incorrect), Words Mastered, Hours Spent, and Points Earned. Click on any of the columns to show that statistic in the bar chart above.
In the top right corner, above the bar chart, you'll see a date range menu. The default date range is the last 30 days, but you may change it to any date range by clicking on it and selecting a custom reporting period.
Below the bar chart, you'll see a list of all your current classes and your top students from all your classes. Clicking on a class (or student) will bring you to the class details page with the Student Progress tab selected. When you click on a top student, the class details page will start focused on the selected student.
Viewing Student Progress on an Individual Class
Clicking on any class on the My Classes page will bring you to the teacher view of that class. The Student Progress tab is where you can see what work your students have been doing and what words they have been struggling with.
On the left side of the page is a list of students in your class. Click on a student to filter the report to only show details about that student. Click on All Students to return to the full report. Click on the column headings to sort the students by that column. Click again to sort in the opposite direction.
Similar to the My Classes overview, you'll see a bar chart at the top that shows you a day by day (or week by week) overview of activity for this class. Below the chart, you will see four columns that show: Questions Answered (correct/incorrect), Words Mastered, Hours Spent, and Points Earned. Click on any of the columns to show that statistic in the bar chart above. Notice that as you click, the numbers next to each of the students will change to show the selected statistic for each student.
In the top right corner, above the bar chart, you'll see a date range menu. The default date range is the start and end date of the class, but you may change it to any date range by clicking on it and selecting a custom reporting period.

Recent Assignments
Below the bar chart, you'll see a list of assignments your students were working on in the selected time period.
Click on a list to see more details of class performance on that list.
Top Trouble Words
The top trouble words list is a great way to decide which words to cover in class because it shows the words that many of your students are struggling with.
The word that was giving your students the most trouble during the reporting period is at the top of the list. The red, orange and yellow rings next to the word give you an idea of how much (and how many of) your students are struggling. Red indicates students that are having a lot of trouble with a word. The size of the colored portion of the ring represents the percentage of your class that was struggling at that level.
Click on a word to see more details about how your students struggled with the word.
Activity by Assignment
On the Activity by Assignment page, you'll see a list of all of the assignments your class has worked on. This can be Practice, a Quiz or a Spelling Bee. The activity type is written above the name of the assignment. To the right, you can see the date the activity was assigned, the due date, the number of students who have started work on the assignment, the number of students who completed the assignment, the number of students who did not complete the assignment before the due date, the average percentage correct for the class and how close your class is as a whole to completing that assignment.
Clicking an assignment will focus on the student activity for just that assignment.
At the top, you will see two circular charts: these differ by activity type. For practice, these will indicate Progress and Word Mastery and is covered in the Activity by List section below.
For a Quiz, these will indicate the Score and Progress. The score chart shows the average score for your class. Under the chart, you'll see the total number of questions answered correctly, the total number of questions answered at all and the total number of questions skipped. Students are sorted alphabetically by their last name on the left. Clicking on an individual student on the left will show details for that student.
The second chart indicates average completion and below that, you can see the number of students who completed the quiz, the number of students who started the quiz and the number of students who did not complete the quiz by the due date.

Below the two charts, you can see the questions from the quiz ordered by the ones that gave your students the most difficulty. Clicking on a student, or any of the items below the graph will change the order of these questions based on what you picked.
The Spelling Bee also features charts for score and progress. However, unlike the page for a Quiz, below the Spelling Bee score chart you'll see the average score, the average number of words spelled correctly on the first try, the average number of words spelled incorrectly on the first try and the average total number of attempts needed to spell the word correctly. Below the charts are the words featured in the Spelling Bee ordered by the words your students had the most difficulty spelling. Again, clicking on an individual student on the left will show details for just that student.

Activity by List
The Activity by List section shows you any lists your students have worked on during your class period. Clicking on a list in the Activity by List section will show you on the student activity on that list.
At the top, you will see two circular charts: Practice Activity and Word Mastery. The practice activity chart shows the average completion of the Practice activity for that list. Under the chart, you will see the number of students that have started and completed the activity. Students are sorted alphabetically by their last name. Again, clicking on an individual student on the left will show details for that student.
The second chart at the top is for Word Mastery. It shows the average level of mastery that students have achieved for the words on the list. Clicking on the chart will re-sort the students by average percentage of mastery on the list. Remember, mastering words takes time, so word mastery will almost always lag behind Practice Activity. Also, unless students elect to Learn this List, they will only master words they have trouble with, not words they already know, since we tend to work with students more on the words that they struggle with.

Below the two charts you will see a list of words on the list. They are sorted with the words that are causing the most trouble at the top. Again, you can click on a student on the left to re-sort the words for a selected student. Clicking on a word will show details about that word.

Activity by Word
When you click on a word anywhere on the Student Progress page for your class, you will see details on your class' activity for that word.
At the top, you will see two charts: Trouble and Mastery. These charts represent how much trouble your students are having with the word, as well as the overall mastery on the word that they have achieved. You can click on either chart to re-sort the student column by that statistic.
Below the charts, you will see a list of all the questions that students got wrong on the selected word. Each question will show how many students got it incorrect/correct as well as which answers they picked. Click on an individual question to show how your class did on just that question. Or, click on a student to see how that student performed on the questions for the selected word.

What is "Difficulty" and how is it calculated?
The difficulty score represents our estimate (on a 200-800 SAT-style range) for the difficulty of a word or list. Difficulties may change over time because they are computed based on the current data that we have collected on site-wide student performance.
